New brand for The Book People

We’ve created a new brand for online bookstore The Book People. One that’s bold enough to take on Amazon, build loyalty and increase customer retention.

As you’d expect, the team behind The Book People absolutely love books. Not even Amazon, the undisputed leader in the online book market, can compete with their knowledge and passion. The tone of voice and language of book lovers plays a key part in showing the personality of The Book People. We developed a set of devices that play to their strengths, signalling bestsellers, recommendations and insights – and adding value to customers along the way.

The distinctive illustrative style draws deeply on this love of books, with a group of hand-drawn characters, enthralled in a world their book has taken them to. Created by illustrator Mr Griff, they show people of all ages, backgrounds and interests connected by The Book People’s red book, which appears in every single illustration.

The new brand has bags of personality, sharing quotes and recommendations to inspire a love of reading and help navigate the huge range of 200,000 books.
