This is a glasses case with the sophistication of any other British design icon – and it’s here to stay. We were tasked with developing a brand positioning and identity that would help it gain the respect, recognition and standing it deserves.
A glasses case is something most of us see, use and touch every day, yet most of the time it goes unnoticed. Some of us are happy to spend hundreds of pounds on a pair of glasses or sunglasses, but are also happy to let them be damaged by the bumps and scrapes of everyday life in a case that was made on the cheap (and probably complementary). An Ayres case isn’t just about style; even a drop from a 7th floor window would keep your glasses unscathed.
We designed a brand that captured the strength and durability of the product itself, but the elegance, passion and imagination that went into creating it as well. At the heart of this British designed and manufactured product is a brand with a quirky flair for life that’s intrinsic to British culture.
A fresh, modern colour palette inspired by the colours of the union jack, and a fluid, eye-catching monogram, graphic and repeat pattern – the visual identity has all the makings of a luxury brand. The tone of voice balances expertise and elegance with a surprising cheekiness. Still life imagery and 3D renders illustrate the toughness, durability and cushioning of the product with real impact.
While the brand development is complete, we’re continuing to work as a long-term partner with Ayres, to bring the vision to life digitally and experientially. Together, we hope to achieve our vision and make Ayres the new British icon.
